Inspired by the famous Nashville hot chicken, this bold and spicy dip delivers all the flavors of the iconic chicken sandwich!

If you’ve ever had Nashville hot chicken, you know it’s all about that fiery, flavorful seasoning. With how iconic Nashville hot chicken is, people line up around the block in Nashville just to get a taste. The story goes back to the Prince family, who really put Nashville hot chicken on the map. Their original recipe started as a little lover’s quarrel revenge, and now it’s one of the city’s most famous dishes. But here’s the thing, it’s not just spicy for the sake of heat. It’s the combination of cayenne, paprika, brown sugar, garlic, and a few other seasonings that make it unforgettable.

This Nashville Hot Chicken Dip takes those same flavors and puts them into a rich, cheesy dip that’s perfect for parties, game day, or just a snack when you want something indulgent. This dip is all about the seasoning, that signature Prince-family heat mixed with a little smoky sweetness.

I like to bake this dip with a little crunchy topping. You can use panko breadcrumbs or crushed pork rinds, depending on whether you want a low-carb option. Garnish with dill pickle slices.

Tips for the Best Dip

  • Don’t skip any of the seasoning, it’s what makes this dip taste like true Nashville hot chicken.
  • Adjust the cayenne to your heat preference, start with a little and add more if you like it really fiery.
  • Pickles aren’t just garnish, they cut through the richness and balance the heat.

Substitutions & Variations

  • I use pork rind crumbs because they pair well with the dip and keeps the carbs lower. Use can also use panko bread crumbs.
  • You can swap the cheddar and Monterey Jack for any cheese you like.
  • Greek yogurt may be used in place of sour cream for extra protein.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Nashville Hot Chicken Dip with a variety of dippers so everyone can enjoy it their way. Toasted baguette slices or crostini are great if you want a little crunch. Veggies like celery sticks, carrot sticks, or cucumber slices are great for balancing the heat. Pork rinds, tortilla chips and crackers are also great options. Another idea is the eat it as a sandwich spread on bread and wraps! It’s all about giving everyone options and making it fun to eat.

Storage Instructions

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To reheat in the microwave in short intervals, stirring halfway, until hot. If it’s too thick add a bit of milk or broth to thin.
