Why you’ll love this recipe

Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods, especially on weekends.  One reason personal pan pizzas are popular is because of portion control.  And who can resist this cute little iron skillet?  Keto friendly personal pizzas are a great way to ensure everyone can enjoy the same meal. All you have to do is prepare each person’s pizza with their choice of toppings, and voila — everyone has a delicious meal tailored to their tastes. This recipe is super easy and fun for any day of the week!

Pizza Crust ingredients

Shredded mozzarella cheese

Grated parmesan cheese

Egg

Italian seasoning

How to make personal pan pizza

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Grease skillet or pan.

Step 2

In a small bowl, thoroughly mix both cheeses, egg and seasoning. Then use a fork or small spatula to press ingredients into the skillet evenly.

Step 3

Bake cheesy crust for 15-20 minutes or until browned around the edges and done in the center.

Step 4

Next, top the crust with pizza sauce and your favorite toppings. Bake for 5-10 minutes until the toppings are cooked, and the cheese is bubbling.

There you have it— low carb pan pizza!

Low Carb Pizza Topping Ideas

Here are a few of our favorite toppings:

Marinara sauce – Make sure to look for a low-sugar brand. A few brands I like are Rao’s, Victoria and Mezzetta.

Sliced pepperoni. Traditional or turkey pepperoni both make a tasty topping.

Crumbled Sausage – Italian or breakfast-style sausage.

Ham or bacon

Shredded chicken – Rotisserie chicken adds protein and extra flavor.

Sliced mushrooms – Whether you like white or baby Bella, mushrooms are a great choice for your keto pizza.

Onions – Red, yellow or white onions. Sautéed onions add great flavor.

Bell peppers. Red, green pepper, or yellow – any bell pepper is sure to give your pizza a burst of flavor.

Banana peppers – a personal favorite of mine!

Olives – Black olives are rich and delicious.

Fresh or dried herbs and spices like oregano, basil, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes.

Fresh basil – Prep the basil by removing the leaves from the stems and tearing them into smaller pieces.
