Sausage Jalapeño Popper Dip is the ultimate party appetizer! Creamy, cheesy, and loaded with sausage, spicy jalapeños, and bacon. Baked until golden and bubbly, this dip is the kind of dish that disappears fast at game days, holidays, and get-togethers.

Sausage Jalapeño Popper Dip is everything you love about the popular jalapeño popper appetizer plus more! It has the creamy base, spicy jalapeños, melty cheese, and smoky bacon you expect, but the addition of savory sausage makes it extra hearty and full of flavor. It is the kind of appetizer that feels right at home at game day gatherings, holiday parties, or even just a casual night in.
How To Make Dip
This dip is so simple to make. Start by cooking and crumbling your sausage until browned, then stir it into a mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, fresh jalapeños, green chilies, garlic powder, and cheddar. Spread the dip into a baking dish and top with crumbled bacon. Bake until it is golden and bubbling around the edges.
When it comes to dippers, you have plenty of options. Tortilla chips are always a hit, but sturdy crackers like pita chips, veggie sticks, or even toasted baguette slices work just as well. Pork rinds are delicious dippers and keep it low carb! Do not be surprised if people skip the dippers altogether and just grab a spoon. It’s that good!
The best part is that leftovers, if you are lucky enough to have any, reheat beautifully. Just cover and store in the fridge, then warm it up the next day for a quick snack. It is one of those recipes that tastes just as good (if not better) the second time around.
Substitutions
Sausage: Use spicy sausage for extra heat, turkey sausage for a lighter option, or even chorizo for a smoky, bold flavor.
Cheese: Swap cheddar for Monterey Jack, pepper jack, Colby, or a blend of your favorites.
Jalapeños: Fresh jalapeños give the best kick, but pickled jalapeños work if you want a tangier flavor. For less heat, use mild green chilies only.
Bacon: Turkey bacon or pancetta can be used in place of regular bacon. You can also leave it out if you prefer.
Sour cream: Plain Greek yogurt works well here and adds extra protein!
